Exciting June Holiday

It's June...It's school holidays...It's his birthday month!!

Here's some updates on his upcoming activities for the month:

His 'excursions' & Entertainments:

Genting - 6 of us will be going together. 3 of us with my parents & aunt. It's been more than a decade since I stepped into Genting. We are skipping the School holiday crowd (Ed will have to miss school for a day), so will only be travelling on 27th June for a 3 days-2 nights trip to enjoy some fun rides & the cooler weather.

Kelong in Malaysia - Tentatively going on 5th & 6th July. Nature normally interests kids, and this time, we have a group of friends/colleagues who will be bringing their kiddos to join in the trip. This should be fun as it will be Ed very first trip to Kelong for fishing & get close to the nature.

Imax Movie - His new interest at 35 months is Dinosaurs! Recently, he kept asking me for the names of the different kinds of Dinos and buying lots of Dino-related toys/models. Therefore, I bet he will be elated to watch 'Dinosaurs Alive' in OMNI Theatre.

Movie - 'Kung-fu Panda', his 5th movie since the last ones...'Alvin & the chipmunks' & 'CJ7'. He never once dozed off from watching a movie, his body froze with excitement from the animations, so much so that he never even noticed our 2 hands digging into the box of popcorn he was holding...haha! Truly engrossed! The worst thing about going for a movie was: Wailing out loud when the movie ended & refused to leave the cinema - ('Mummy, it's over!!') Without saying, this little fellow will sure buy a DVD of every movie he watched before to add into his animation DVD collection.

Shows - His 3rd & 4th kiddo musical Show. Two Shows for this school Holidays since this boy adores movies, musicals and such. This time, we will be going to Dora Pirate Adventure in Expo & Barney's Let's Imagine Live! in Suntec. Thanks to Uncle Ryan for the 4 VIP tickets that gave us such good seats for the Dora show, saving us the cost of $68 per tic! :)

We have yet to go for the Barney show, on 5th June. For that, it was a last minute decision to go for it when he asked for his birthday gift. By the time I purchased the tickets from Sistic, I was left with Thursday slots and all Category 1 seats were sold out.

Ed asked: 'Mummy, Ah-Ma buy me a motorbike for my birthday, what are you buying for me?' (His granny bought him a motorised Motorbike. To date, he already has 7 vehicles - 3 bicycles, 1 huge Little-Tikes coupe, 1 truck, 1 Battery-operated motorcycle & 1 Tri-Scooter. All those 7 vehicles...he could accomplished on controlling the vehicles very well. *Tough cookie)
Me: You have a full storeroom of toys. What other toys do you want?
Ed: Hmmm, I want Barney Show. (He knew he couldn't convinced me further to buy him a pair of roller-blades which he had tried pestering the both of us for months to no avail.)
Me: Errr...ok. Barney Show will be your gift then.

Though I couldn't get Category 1 tickets this time & the view might be affected, I do hope he will enjoy his birthday gift. Happy Birthday, Sweetie!

Learning is Fun...with Learning Horizon:
Yeah, all along I prefer him to attend classes in LH. So this June holis, I've enrolled him to 3 classes. Nothing academic...just pure fun! Starting with 3 lessons to enhance parent-Child bonding with the fun on clay creation from Clayworkz, followed by Junior Lego Engineering. Though it all sounds so easy but I never know the right way to teach him to create using Lego. It will be a 2 day course, so I guess it will be something interesting, something new that could enhance his knowledge to create from clay & Lego. The last course with LH will be a 4-days class with a colourful theme of 'Circus-Circus'.

Next in line will be his acceptance from Lorna Whiston & Julia Gabriel for Edudrama, after months of waiting in the queue. This little rascal is so dramatic & expressive. This inspired his Daddy to enroll him in Speech & Drama classes. Well, Daddy wanted him to attend in both schools since coincidentally, both schools gave him a slot, but I prefer to start him with Lorna Whiston first and go slow...since these kinda classes are more towards having fun in expressing yourself, not academically stressing him with ABCs. Thru drama & play, I'm sure he will pick up his language at an even faster pace, very naturally.

With so much activities for the little one, this upcoming month should be a busy one for him and of course, me, who will be busy chauffeuring him here and there. Whenever I think of the time I had with my boy, I'm so thankful for my ultra-flexible jobs. Without them, I don't think I can achieve financial-freedom yet able to spend time attending classes with my boy & the ample bonding time, yet without the need to be a boring full-time housewife as well. I will cherish this bonding for the next 3 years which is so-so valuable...personally I felt the first 6 years is crucial in a child's mental development that will bring him a long way in future. This 6 years which Nothing can buy back time...with a glimpse, that will be over. I do hope the extra time given to him over the first 6 years will give him a stronger impact of family values. The values to care & love for the family & be grateful to things around him.
